Don Quijote

I’m a conservative?
But what does it mean? From time to time I have asked my conservative friends, especially when they start to make disgruntled noises (moaning), to qualify (quantify) what does being a conservative mean? What is it? Like, in concrete terms what is it? I get the standard answer: less government, less taxes, right to bear arms, etc and that’s about it, nothing specific, applicable or tangible…

Well, after this whole healthcare debacle I finally got it. I was looking for symptoms and issues rather than looking at the core (the affliction), and now it all make sense. Given my “liberally mavericky” ways of daring to have a social conscience I’ve dared to have an expectation of at least basic fairness and common practical sense (never mind social justice) in healthcare reform and of course it was a disappointment. I was sitting there thinking, 'how can things be this way?' Is there any social conscience of any kind? Is it just about money and power… me and screw you?

It kind of works this way - imagine the Wild West, two cowboys traveling in the desert, a rattlesnake bites one of the cowboy's horse and (through no fault of his own) the horse tosses him over and he breaks his neck. Both are sitting there (horse and the cowboy) in pain, unable to do anything and asking for help. So this is the deal, the other guy friend, if he’s a conservative, will simply say, “tough luck, it could have happened to me… but it didn’t.”  If he’s a “compassionate conservative” he will shoot the horse (to put it out its misery) but most likely take all his friend’s stuff get on his way and leave his friend to die (and if he's very very compassionate shoot his friend as well). Basically (and I’m serious) the moment you get sick and ask for help at that moment –no matter how responsible or how much of a contributor to society you have been- you’re not an American anymore. You are not a good American, you’re unpatriotic, and you do not love your country (I'm serious still). If you simply try to “think ahead” and make it equitable, compassionate or even just practical and civilized then you’re a socialist and that's it, nothing in between (and that’s what they are saying, at the top of their lungs). I thought that they were crazy but they are not, they are just cowboys, they want to live –and die- in the Wild West. It’s simple, if you have a social conscience you’re a social-ist, if you have no conscience then you’re a conservative.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

The avarice never ends! "I want golf clubs. I want diamonds. I want a pony so I can ride it twice, get bored and sell it to make glue."

Why is it that I can so easily see a scene from the godfather (or any other mobster movie) where the wise guys meet with the “elected official” and work out a deal?

Okay "lover boy" (Lieberman means lover man in German), you do this for us, and we will make it all worthwhile for you, your family and every Lieberman generation there after. We know that you’ll piss “the people” off; and that you will never get reelected no matter how much money we through into your campaign (this time) but not to worry we'll take good care of you afterwards. Heck just with the extra money we’re going to make it’s no bother... So what do you say? Oh, and we’ll through in a guarantied life-long health insurance policy... Free of charge of course. No bother there either the taxpayers are going to be paying for it anyway. Hmm, so what do you think he’s going to do?

Like, let me see, Lieberman is from Connecticut, the health insurance industry capital of the world, and he is sitting at the epicenter of the biggest gain or loss that the health insurance industry has ever seen; a jackpot of thermonuclear proportions...hmm, let me think? Furthermore he’s not a democrat but rather a well know hypocrite (the other big party in Washington); and is not like he has not been telegraphing his punches; “HELLO!!” He ran against his own party ticket for God's sake!!

So what did we expect? The one “political flaw” that may be beginning to emerge with Obama is that he may be too politically naive because -unlike president Clinton- he expects for people (politicians) to have a conscience and to do the right think; and of course they don’t. Clinton was a better politician perhaps in the regard that he expected for politicians to do the wrong thing; and they did. Not sure if it is time to leave our collective consciences at home (hard call), but maybe we need to stop being naive and play hardball (while we can).

What's that stench? It's fantastic. It’s green eggs and ham… I guess. Now don’t get sick.

American Foreign Policy

CLICK ON THE PICTURE (and then the buttons) TO GET THE FULL INTERACTIVE EFFECT. Foreign policy it’s a little like a Rubik’s cube, to solve the puzzle requires careful thought, patience, strategy and foresight. Acting “emotionally," on impulse and without thinking tends to –like in the cube itself- mess things up and harder to resolve. You can’t really solve it either with a one face at the time narrow approach, and for those of you who have done it, you know how easy it is to mess one face up (color or country) while trying to get another face together. As you know the puzzle is not easy, but it is solvable; and of course there’s a method to it. Even so, it is a long, comprehensive, thoughtful, and systematic method that requires smarts, patience and foresight. Being decisive and invading Iraq when it was not even in the “defeating terrorism” puzzle messed things up with Iran, left Afghanistan open and made Al-Qaeda stronger. Bush -even if he was well intentioned- took the narrow approach and perhaps solved the Iraq face (time will tell), except that Iraq was not even in the cube's puzzle to start with; and Bush was at the top of his game. Not that it's going to happen but one can only imagine what a Sarah Palin would do after a couple of tries at the puzzle, and once she reaches the edge of her “mavericky” brain capacity...and then she goes for the bible; to show her "the path." BBRRRGGGHHH!!!

Who knows, maybe it takes a “dithered” -think before you act and all the way though- approach to solve it? Maybe, of course but it is worth a try...although only time will tell...

Political Bimbo

CLICK ON THE PICTURE FOR A FULL ANIMATED EFFECT. Okay, with all do respect to women and only as it pertains to politics, Sarah Palin is not that much more than a “political bimbo.” Can someone please point out to me what else is going on here? What are her qualities? What public good or purpose can she possibly serve? Let me put it this way, “She’s NO Eleanor Roosevelt.” Yes this cartoon is sexist…we’re going rogue and making an exception for her but it is intentionally sexist mostly to make the point. Ask yourself, would she be a phenomenon of any kind among conservatives if she were overweight, old and/or ugly? Duh, so if you’re cute and talk dirty you can have a future in politics (to some even the presidency)? So how twisted, ugly and sexist is that? And besides, she’s exploiting it to the max…making money...and pointing fingers “back” on top of that. This is just nothing more (and nothing less) than a form of political porn and “political masturbation” for repressed minds...what else? One thing is good though, she has actually helped advance the women’s cause...you can safely say now that “woman are just as capable of being as stupid and vile as men”. Thanks again Sarah for the opportunity to try to make sense out of total nonsense. And yes thanks to her, reality has now become "officially" crazier -and funnier- than fiction. If you disagree or have a reasonable less “crazy” angle please enlighten me, I’m always willing to stand corrected.

General Obama!!

Well, I don’t know about you but Cheney is “dithering”* me out…so what’s his point, “thinking it through” is a bad thing?...as opposed to what? Being “decisive” in jumping in front of a bus (Iraq)? What? Should we tell future generations that they should be “decisive” and cross the street without looking (“left and right”) for upcoming danger first? What then? Having a decisive “W” was not bad enough? So how about “a decisive” Sarah Palin as “commander in chief”? Wow! Not that it’s going to happen but that’s a scary thought isn’t it (like the worst “B” horror or disaster flick that even Hollywood can’t dream up)? Hmmm, some food for thought…how about a Sarah Palin (the dithering queen) and Cheney ticket for 2012 (in that order)?

*Dithering: “Dithering” in graphic artist terms means the “breaking down” of solid colors into dots to represent gradations in color that a computer or printing device cannot handle. Like dissolving the color “wearing” it down (so keep that in mind also when reading).

So after how much blood and treasure is Iraq “manageable” again (if it last)? At the time of the invasion I had argued with my friends on the right that “aside” from ideologies and political views that from a “strictly practical” stand point the invasion seemed like a “stupid” decision…with my friends on the left I’d argue that maybe “we” can’t be that dumb and that there may have been some kind of “think-tank” well understood (but secret) geo-political reason behind it all (like to setup shop to “stop” the Chinese…the real enemy of our way of life). And then it turns out to be that “yes” they were even more stupid that we suspected… and that the universal notion -aside from the very neo-cons that screwed up in the first place- is that the “Iraq invasion” was stupid at best. Heck, even gas prices went up…way up, and then the economy tanked.  So was that just stupid, or stupid…and reckless? To be smart and arrogant is bad, but to be stupid and arrogant is a disaster.

Now just for the sake of argument and in response as to how quick “the far right” (and the not so far right) is to make despotic and inflammatory statements even when not factual. So how about this? What does the constitution say about premeditatedly plunging the nation into war under false pretenses? Let’s ask Sarah…hey Sarah, does that sound “constitutionally” to you? Or just “treasony”?

The day after Thanksgiving (crime scene)

I HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY. As per the cartoon it may seem like a premature death announcement to a healthcare reform bill but it is more that it makes a good joke (always important) and that in a more serious way predicting the possible future may make you think about it a little more while there’s still time to affect things. All together I do believe that there’s plenty of good and responsible people in Washington who actually have the country’s best interest (the people) in mind rather than narrow special interest (the corporations… the narrow ass ones I mean) and who are working hard to make a difference in a very difficult environment of contradicting special interest. Yes I’m taking the side of the reasonable “politicians” from relatively sane districts (few in the south where the angry gene has taken hold) rather than the 24-7-for profit- news-entertainment cable media (left or right) as they tend to omit most of the details that make the debate sane (reasonable and that for boring). Lots of what we hear through the cable news is many times distorted for effect (very easy to understand what but not very responsible if you ask me). Although there’s quite a difference in “degrees” of insanity and retardation between fox and MSNBC (and whatever else in between), ethically speaking (morally) I do not see that much of a difference.

What I’m getting at is that aside from all the noise something positive is going to come out of this debate that will advance and mature us as a nation in the long run. The kudos go to those “real Americans” who had the vision and mustered the energy to put it forward and fight for change and to those who fight for the details to make it better. Democracy works mostly because in some ways it allows the ones in the receiving end to vent while living in the hope that they will be the ones dishing it out next time. Sure things are more confusing, difficult and messy in a democracy but in the end of the day even though its not the best it is the best we have and something progressive and positive is going to come out of it… no one is going to be entirely happy of course but in the long run it is all going to be substantially worth it as a whole. Now what do you think?

Friday The 13th

Its not friday and its not the 13th but may as well be because with Sarah “Jason” Palin, everyday is Friday the 13th…

Oh, and the American flag in the lapel thingy… what? Just “don’t leave home without it”? If you’re in the business of fear mongering and like “Jason Voorhees” (Friday the 13th, but in politics) terrorizing people or “Palin-out” consternating your country, just don’t forget to wear an American flag in your lapel. Oh and don’t worry if that’s not big enough to cover the offense. Just “misuse” a BIG American flag as a backdrop. The bigger the flag, the bigger the offense you can get away with…seriously.

This cartoon was about the election massacres in the Republican Party with the measuring up to the tea-baggers standards of purity…but this flag thing kind of tips the scale on the bigger picture. I’m for one sick of it…it feels like the “thou shall not take the Name of thy God in vain” thing. Honestly, it’s too much and in an honest and serious way it’s offensive to the depth and dignity of the idea of our country… and actually a very dangerous road to travel. Is Sarah Palin’s idea of what defines an American is now going to be the standard? She actually goes at it in her book…saying something to the extent that “everyone in America” should wear one…now that’s a much scarier idea than Friday the 13th, isn’t it?

Besides I don’t know about you but I keep thinking of her as a Canadian…it does not make any sense (wishful thinking perhaps) and I know my geography but I fancy to think that Alaska is more Canada than it is USA. No offense to anyone, Canadian or Alaskan (just kidding of course)…maybe it’s just too cold up there to think straight.

Bowing? Who's Bowing?!

Just in case you may have missed on the AP news picture that propped the cartoon, the real picture shows the president actually bowing to the emperor of Japan as proper diplomatic protocol will indicate. And as usual of course all the “usual suspects” jumped at the opportunity to call into question “again” the president’s and our country’s “standing” in the world (which always begs the question of compared to what?). Personally I would agree that bowing to an emperor of a long forgotten era (and never mind the history) seems out of place and straight out silly but then again, I’m not in charge of anything so I trust that our president -along with the previous ones- know better in these matters.

I saw the graphic joke straight away. In reality, our president happens to be a pretty tall guy and the emperor quite tiny… so I slightly changed the camera angle, lifted the presidents head just a little and put his left hand on top of the head of the emperor… and just started laughing. I would like to make clear however that even though as a cartoonist I would consider myself and “equal opportunity offender” (if it’s funny it goes) that there’s no intent to make fun of the Japanese as a people but most definitely no apologies in making fun of the emperor… (and what a yoga bow that was I may add… as per how straight the president’s legs are and how low he had to go below the emperor’s head).

The Cuckoo's Klan

Okay, can someone please explain this one to me? Murdoch is an Australian, right?…Australia is a foreign country, right? (yes i’m going slow not to lose those among us who are geographically challenged)…so that makes him a foreigner, an “alien” if you may…right? So seriously, what’s the deal with foreign entities interfering with the internal affairs of a country? Is that legal? never mind ethical…I mean can anyone possibly interfere and cross the line in a more blunt and egregious way in the political process of our country? What he’s not Chinese (communist) so that’s okay. And where’s the exaggeration? I’m confused…

Bank Robbers

Yeah, like who do you call…the police or your senator? Funny that no one has a sense of shame anymore. In the old days “bank robbers” will mask their faces to cover their identity but now all you need is an army of good lobbyists and you can rob people legally, in bright day light, and with a smile on your face. Even funnier is that this is the way it is in reality -and without exaggeration- with the banks and credit card companies. Like I said in the past, sometimes reality it’s funnier than fiction… Funny ha ha.

In case you are wondering what the term “DINO” in the title stands for. You know it’s like the “RINO” thing (Republican In Name Only) but for the other party, Democrat In Name Only. So happens that that’s where the blog humor was leading to but I just wanted to insert that I’m not a “party affiliate” kind of a person myself (and yes I voted for Arnold and I would do it again). I guess that the general most popular definition is that of an “independent” (although a more patient one perhaps and not like “what? two days in office no results? So lets change back to the party that three days ago got us in the mess that we’re in the first place?”). Partisan politics just for the sake of being partisan does not do anything for anyone (duh).

The Lapel Flag "Thingy"

And what’s with the American flag on the lapel thing? Have we become a cartoon nation? What happen to the adults? Are we now a nation of school children with an identity problem? So what now? If you don’t wear or show-off the flag, you’re not as good an American as those who abuse it? So what then, so long as you “flash the flag” you can say or do anything you like, however crazy or “unamerican” it may be? Let’s just grow up a little, shall we? All Americans have a lot to be proud of and there are many more dignifying ways to play tribute to this wonderful idea of nation that we “all” are. Enough already.

Zombie Health Insurance

I guess it’s a treat, “HAPPY HALLOWEEN” everyone… and thanks for following all this nonsense…more ghouls and vampires coming up.

Do you think zombies should have health insurance? What kind of premiums should dead people pay? Is being dead a preexisting condition? Now, that’s a worthwhile debate isn’t it? Anyway, I had this particular cartoon drawn a while ago and right at the height of this summer’s tea-party’s exuberation (this word is not in the dictionary?) but I’d decided to wait for Halloween. I was planning to have a Halloween special to peak this nonsense… and this zombie cartoon was just perfect for it. As the healthcare debate got more civil and into substance I’ve started to feel that the punchline and emphasis of the cartoon was diminishing. That is, until the tea-baggers (and I’m restraining the best I can not to make a joke about the “other meaning” for “teabagging”) decided to go at it again…thus the “DIE-HARD” as a title came up. Like zombies are hard to kill, right? So the new title seems to make it even better. Things are looking up…and again, more ghouls and vampires coming up.

Blood Sucker

So here’s Bela Lugosi (DRRRRAKULA), the new -HealthInsurance- Industry’s Spokesperson. Well, he’s dead by now, but then again he was a vampire, right? So -like the -HealthInsurance Industry, Drakula will stick around for as long as there’s someone’s life to suck the blood out of (the other way around?). It’s like the Vampire’s “Business Model”, they will suck your blood for as long as you’re -healthy- and of course they’ll dump you when you -getsick-. Like “duh”, where’s the profit in that? Yeah “TRRRRRUST” us, we’re for prrrofit but…we have yourrr best interrrest in mind. So why do we do it? Why do we still trust vampires?

Nosferatu

I’m not sure if I’m castigating the subject a little too much (editorially that is) but the jokes are still valid and at this point it’s more about the art, the form of expression and the neat effect it seems to have. Meaning that there’s something creatively honest about how this format forces the artistic expression and how it comes together into a thing of its own. There’s the primal magic on hand drawings and there’s the humor of course… and like in the traditional political cartoon in newspaper and magazines. The intention by design is that the humor is in the graphic and that the graphic itself is the punch line… and the same thing if there’s (limited) animation, sound or interactivity involved. The text is there to set it up and to emphasize it all. The idea is to get an effect and/or a reaction, all quick and in one pass.

The Cuckoo's Klan

My favorite so far… this stuff just writes itself. For those of you who may be too young to remember, the cartoon portrays a scene from the movie classic “One Flew Over the Cukoo’s Nest”. You may remember the Joker from the first Batman movie though, but do you know that the role that Jack Nicholson played in the Cukoo’s nest movie is what actually got him the role as the crazy Joker in the Batman movie? So there, doesn’t it all fit like “crazy”? Isn’t it funny the way things come together. Isn’t the “joke” funny…or is it just me?

Got Milk?

I’m always curious as to whom they are always referring to… It’s like when someone says “we want our country back the way it was,” I’m afraid to ask what they mean. It’s simple, when you’re at the bottom of the barrel by virtue of yourself it is always comforting to think of others as lesser than you. So think about it, if you were to take racism out of the picture what would they see when they look at themselves in the mirror? No one likes been at the bottom.

The NFL Plantation

Like in a real football game you are suppose to resist the other team’s offense…while setting up offensives of your own. Without an opposing effort the other team will simply win even if they have no merit and do not deserve it. If you do nothing, you will simply get run over and lose (and there’s a lot to lose). In the other hand, if you oppose them in whatever form and however little you would at least slow them down and reduce their effectiveness. Yes we’re a better team but without an effort that means nothing in the field. Don’t get cocky as they are, do something…and who knows, if we have the stamina and actually make a real effort we may win the league. You’re part of a good team and we won the first game, now we need to get the championship and get the results we deserve. Yes we can?

Star War's Jabba The Hutt

Star-ing Rush Limbaugh as Jabba the Bloob. Yeah, it’s like a Star Wars soap-opera episode (soo easy to come up with this stuff). Sensible people tend to get cut in the “it’s crazy” or “it doesn’t make sense” argument (and it is, and it doesn’t), but need to realize (quickly perhaps) that to the “angry’s” it does not have to make sense, as it is not about the words, or the logic (as there’s none), but about the venom in those words. Lets face it (according to the angry gene theory), there are people out there with a pathological need to be angry. And these twisted entertainers have simply found their niche (and they are very good at making “crap” smell and taste like chicken). They are good at keeping them angry (their natural stage), and like Star Wars episodes, their audience can’t wait for the fix of the next episode. Can’t wait to hear what new and crazy stuff these crazy entertainers will say that day to keep them angry. Or make them angrier perhaps, and angrier and, and angrier…(To be continued?)…

Sure it is all primal and tribal stuff and it is more accentuated now because of the economic pressures but isn’t this the stuff we’re suppose to have evolved from? Hmm…well, maybe we’re still in the process. Oh, “evolution,” but that’s another full chapter in this context isn’t it (maybe another day)?

So I ask myself with some degree of fear, is this just a bad episode? When -and how- would this star wars saga end?

The "Other" Taliban

Wow, how low can you go? I can’t keep up with this crap and Halloween still a few weeks away. Crazy that even the lunatics over there (Taliban), would have more of a point than the lunatics over here (shock radio… and cable).

Whatever your politics or point of view -and I’m pretty moderate myself in “civilian life”- none of this crazy noise (and you know it) has anything to do with a discussion or an exchange of ideas. I’m personally, and politically above the noise and sometimes I even feel a little uncomfortable “swinging back” even if it is with humor. But this is not the typical political swing (left and right) and these lunatics are a bit more worrisome than looney tunes… but I’m an artist first and far most, and all of this is way too funny and crazy to pass on… (to be continued).

Special Olympics

Just because someone opens their mouth does not mean that they are saying anything. This whole “real American” thing is quite a tickle. We are all American (duh), and last time I checked we were all real (extraterrestrials included). When it’s the last time that you had the need to say, “hey stranger, I’m a real american?” Be weary of these MOTARDS (motivated retards) who have the (-pathological-) need to stand in front of a big American flag and tell you (everyone else) that you are not as American as they are. Don’t chicken out, stand your ground and do not be intimidated, you are a “real American”. To be a citizen and an American is not something that can be parsed… but, if for the sake of argument, we were to follow their own logic, then won’t you say that anyone who will be happy (rather gleeful) to have their own country lose the bid for the olympics should be considered anti-American… like not a “real American” right? So where’s the logic? Oh, I get it… logic does not apply to crazy people.

Time Bomb Glenn

Ka-Boom!!

It's a Cock Fight

I do not need to take sides on this one. More often than not, and no matter how confusing an issue may be (especially in politics) it always boils down to something very basic. Humans for the most part are primal and selfish by nature (plus or minus civilized evolution). It’s raw and it’s basic, all you have to do is look and see who benefits from it. Or just follow the money trail.

Another Day at the Circus

When ego -and money- trumps conscience. Another great performance by Fox Entertainment-news master clown. Stay tuned as this is not over yet. There’s a lot more of it, and a lot crazier shit to be said. Lets face it, hate and bigotry sells. Someone at the network was smart enough (and mind you it’s for money and ratings) to come up with the HATE CHANNEL idea to cater to the angry (gene) people and it works. They get a loyal audience and when you keep making bad noise -no matter how stupid or crazy- eventually everything becomes bad noise. With Clinton, at least (maybe because he was white?) they waited until the second term before they really when at it. There are no breaks or benefit of the doubt with Obama (maybe because he’s black?). They are starting early and they are going all out. Sad, really that it is just about destruction and ratings rather than about people and country. “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”… or is it the other way around? “Ask not what you can do for country but what your country can do for you”…never mind.

Primetime Roache

The very nature of cable television is that it is designed to cater to specific people and/or specific interest. Just tune in to the channel you want and watch whatever you want that make’s you feel good. Make no mistake. These pundit are neither idealist nor freedom fighters. These guys are just heartless opportunist. The likes of the O’Reilly’s and Beck’s of the world (to mention just a couple) would not have been the ones in jails in communist Russia or Nazi Germany but rather work for the KGB, the Gestapo (at least as informants) or at the propaganda ministries. East Germany and the transformation there after the war comes to mind. Same asshole mindset, different label. These are not particularly noble people nor freedom advocates. They are opportunistic, roach-like arrogant bullies (aka assholes).

We Sure can

We should respect all kinds of creatures on this earth, and insects are no exception of course. Don’t know about you, but if I ever see a roach creeping around my kitchen (or TV room) it’s very likely that I would go all out to step on it. So maybe we should make and exception with roaches, bullies, hypocrites and assholes (not to worry, none of these creatures are on the endangered species list). What do you think?

Roach Hall

Sure, history is supposed to be a lesson we should all learn from…just don’t expect for it not to repeat itself. Just because the setting is not the same does not mean that the same is not happening. Just be aware that “THE DEVIL” is in the (into) details (no pun intended). Just because someone says that they’re a preacher does not make them one or make them good.

The March on Washington

KKK Fox News

Funny yes, but not so funny when you think that’s what some people actually really think.

KKK Fox News

WHO’S COUNTRY IS WHAT TO WHOM? History repeats itself? Is this all for real? Make no mistake, my guess is that this IS the new KKK. They may not wear the hoods anymore -they do not need to- but it is, for all practical purposes the exact same thing. Arrogance rains supreme, racism is alive and well and now they do not even have the need to hide it. I find myself sounding radical and I don’t like it but all of this is too real and too close for comfort. It will be funny if it wasn’t so close to real. The joke is funny though, so i just hope that it makes you feel a little better.

If Women Could Rule the World

It’s not about gender or race or persuasion of any kind, it’s not about men vs. women, black vs. white, young vs. old, rich vs. poor, one nation vs. another etc. It’s all about that freaking “angry gene.” Some humans are just angry, not angry by circumstance or misfortune but by DNA. It is simply in their genes and they just can’t help it. Not that we have to tolerate it and let it take over. The angry gene is a totalitarian one and it is quite scary to think about what would happen if this current crop of freaks (men or women) were to be in power. Most regresses in history have more to do with the angry gene than with anything else (the enemy is “technically” within). Seriously it’s a bit scary.

The Health Scare Debate

Often enough the idea for reactionaries is to make things as confusing and as annoying as possible. Like blow a fuse in people’s heads so that you can feed them angry stuff. But that’s just mean and uncivilized, it’s reactionary, it does not build but destroys. As per the picture above, why is it that being “progressive” is such a scary concept for “regressive” people? Frankly I do not get it (except at the raw organism level) since all the progressive things that have come to be are for the benefit of everyone and have made the greatest difference in the human experience on earth (including the reactionaries with the angry gene). So what are we suppose to do, give it all up and go back to the stone-age? Of course not. I can picture the angry debate about the evils of fire (I should do a blogtoon on that one) almost as clearly as the debate about gene splicing. Interesting…

Talking Guns

Everyone wants their rights granted…duh! Nothing wrong with that, but what about the responsibilities that come with those rights? Would you get into a civil discussion with a guy displaying a gun? Would you be weary to say something that person wouldn’t like? That’s intimidation of course…it’s like attending a town meeting discussion wearing a gun…whoops, that’s actually what they are doing…reality seems to trump comparison.
